Title: HDTV

Is the quality worth the expense of maybe 1000 dollars (USD) to buy an HDTV?

Depends what size. I have a large television so the quality of image is more important to me with that than if it was 20in.

Eh, I wouldn't. TV is TV. I don't really care what quality is. As long as I can see the picture and it's not too too fuzzy.

Yeah. If its a larger TV you're looking for, I'd do a DLP projector & screen. Just make sure you have the HD programming to back it up with.

If your looking for an HDTV, go with a Samsung and LCD.

Def. LCD over plasma.

Yes, I would get a HDTV. LCD is very good. And by the year 2009 only HDTV will be supported. Meaning any type of analog, I guess you call it htat, television will not work. I don't have a link supporting this, but i had a teacher that had connections with the FCC, and she got the word from them. So yeah, invest in one.

That is not actually correct. In 2009 all major broadcast stations will be required to stop transmiting analog and only broadcast in DIGITAL. Your analog tv's will still work as long as they have a DTV reciever in them or you buy a convertor which the government is going to give 2 $40 coupons per household to get them.

I think so. I finally bought a new 32" LCD HD TV back in September. I have been most pleased by the improved picture clarity. I only spent around $600-that was my budget. If you've got $1000 to spend then I'd say go for it! :)
