I invite all debaters to take a look at
Fallacy Files (I don't maintain the website so I hope this doesn't count as advertising), a website which gives a thorough explanation to many fallacies that are used in debate. I highly suggest all debaters refer to this website for information on fallacies, as definitions are updated and in some cases new fallacies are added.
In a debate, a valid argument should not consist of a consciously-conceived fallacy of any sort - with the addition of a fallacy to an argument, the argument can become false and lose any truth it may have had from the start. It is quite important that debaters refresh themselves on the knowledge of fallacies because it gives good instruction on debating.
Right now I'm a bit chocked for time so this is all I can write, but do visit the linked site - it's quite quintessential.
