Well as you can see I am not able to make announcements so I guess I decided to make a mini-announcement / recruitment here.

Sorry if I am not in the position to help and all but I really do want to and I also want to see who is is up to the challenge as well.

I want to help put up a "Revamp Team." It is only temporary until we get the forum started again, if we succeed that is. Some basic information first though:

• We will be contacting each other by email.
• Of course staff are allowed!
• Members definitely as well.
• We will be working to revamp the forum
• That includes advertisement
• Reviving old members
• A new skin is coming I think so we may be able to use that to our advantage.
• I may not be the leader if a staff member joins us.
• I am just trying to get this started
• We will start today!
• Planning may not be that organized just as this entire list is, however I think we can make it through
• Contact me by PM and in this topic if you are willing to help out
• We will need some graphic artists (I am willing to help with that and anyone else who wants to join)
• We will need some people fluent in HTML, CSS, PHP, and more....
• We will also need "moderators" or "managers" to help organization of the revamp.
• TO STAFF: Once one of you joins, feel free to take over or change anything I have stated.

There we go. I hope to have more ideas come up later!

Does anyone know anything about web-bots? I may be able to write a program to prevent them, but I don't know how they work. I may be able to create one of those image thingys where you have to type in the code that you see in order to submit the form, but I don't know if that'll work (or if it's even possible).

As to helping out FS, I may be able to, but my time is really limited.

I should look into that aswell, good idea.

I don't have any knowledge on spam bots, but I wonder if a list of known IP address' from computers that have sent out spam-bots would help? I know I ran across one something like that before...

Our security features are broken because of the S1 Crash* I believe. IF has done nothing to assist us in fixing that.

*Even if it wasn't due to the S1 Crash our Bot Stopping features are dead.

A tale of unfortunate events. Perhaps the ZetaBoards technology will have some good protection?

Yeah that is kind of expensive, lol. However it may be a good way to raise money. But I would suggest starting out low if we do allow boards to advertise on us. If we do so then make a deal that if we advertise them they must advertise us? I know that the IFSZ is a large board with several hundred posts a day. I am sure if some of us join that board and make advertisements in our sigantures we may "recruit" more members. I myself admit to clicking signature advertisements.
