How many members does it take to have a great forum?

I don't think persay that one should judge the "greatness" of a forum based soley on it's member count, of course having a strong and large member base is very helpful, it's not exactly required to have a great forum in my opinion, what really counts is the content from which the forum has based on it's theme (EX: Resource forums should have great skins, graphics and the such, where as general boards, should have good conversations on, etc.), try to get your forum up in par with it's quality before you start on quanity ;)

I agree with Jason. Sort of ;)
I think greatness if depending on if the members enjoy the board and come on it often.
But if you mean success then probably like Beckham said. 200+ members but 200 ACTIVE members D:

Depends what type of forum you're running. Since I run strictly RPG forums, quantity is not necessarily important. I can run a succesful, happy and intriguing game with five members. But then again RPG forums are really in an off-the-wall category because they are so different. lol

A great forum does not depend on how many members but on who the members are and what they contribute to the content of that forum.
