Title: 20,000 more men and women to Iraq

Bush announced earlier this week that 20,000 more men will be called for battle but what are the chances that amount of power will make the difference alone? Yet, is trouble which the politicans are giving Bush about not pulling out really helping?

I blogged about this.

What do you think?

I think it's ridiculous, how is just adding more troops a new strategy? More innocent American lives will be taken for a cause which millions oppose right now.

I think its not needed at all, with over 2thousand dead sending in more men will just make that number raise faster. Step one should have been to take 400troops, and march from town to town taking any gun at all. And leaving the law enforcement the only ones with weapons. You can watch the news and see Iraqi's walking around with AK's and Other weapons.
I watched CNN in school (some new thing for history and Govt classes)
And they say that only 1/3 of the troops in Iraq are "combat troops" maybe thats why there are so many casualties, when you send people over there and don't make them fight it somewhat kills the point of sending over mass amounts of troops. Another thing is the combat pay, i think that the US will suffer a great amount of inflation if there are another 20 thousand troops that are going to be getting combat pay (for those who don't know combat pay is significantly more then hazard pay, which means they are risking their lives.. but for 2/3's that don't fight. Its free money)
idk, those are my thought's. Kind of confusing the way i put them, maybe thats why I'm not doing so well in English. :)-

It's pathetic, really. Sending more troops doesn't help with anything.

Hopefully the draft won't come into play...

If the draft comes into play, i can say i see a 75% chance of an assassination coming into play as well.

I probly don't follow American politics as well as an American would, but would the Congress even pass that? I know enough about the American system to know that the bill has to pass through both Congress Houses in order for it to be passed, but wasn't the Congress opposing sending more troops? In fact, wasn't the Congress wanting to pull troops OUT of the Middle East?

I heard the count for more troops is up to 22,000 now. This is ridiculous. Even Rumsfeld opposes the idea. When Rumsfeld opposes an idea of yours, George, you know it's bad.
