I'm for it. The last thing we need is less reading and more illiterate kids who don't know the meaning of common, but complex, words and wording. Also, reading promotes proper grammar use on the internet, which, I'm sure we're all fans of here. :)

Reading educates minds and fills us with ideas, how could any argument say otherwise? Of course schools should have required reading, it's one of the most important skills in today's society. You can't get many jobs as an illiterate. O.o

i can name a number of jobs, well paying jobs at that. That you wouldn't need to be a great literacy type person.
